I don’t think people realize exactly how much change I’ve gone through in college, especially from first semester to second semester.

Yeah, first semester, I’d go out and smoke weed and get drunk, because I liked that I had the freedom to make my own choice to do so. I felt so free compared to high school, where I was under constant watch of my parents, who knew exactly where I was at nearly any given moment and who I was with. I was actually a really good kid in high school, and I don’t think I did anything I would be ashamed to tell my parents about now. Maybe at the time I would have been, but looking back, if I told them now, well, there are a lot worse things I could have been doing. 

I’m in college. I’m here to get a degree. This is going to determine what I’m going to do for the REST OF MY LIFE. Which is really really weird and scary to think about. This year has determined the rest of my life. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t completely regret what I’ve done. I know what it’s like to have my own freedom and learn from my own mistakes. And it’s not like I’m never going to drink. Of course I’m gonna have wine night Fridays with my girls next year. But I know I need to focus and make the most out of my education. Being a girl, and not extremely smart, I’m already an underdog in engineering. I need to prove myself, and make the most out of what both my parents worked so hard to give me.

But Myranda and I definitely had some MAJOR future roommate bonding, and we walked to Target. Even though we both ran five miles today. I was out of fiber bars and we both wanted cereal. Lols. Found out we both dislike organic apples. We also both hate olives and mushrooms. Been through so much of the same shit. Love reading health articles online. Obviously we love to eat the same healthy foods. Blahty blah. Basically we’re soulmates. And we’re both super stoked to be roommates! And we’re still getting married. Date yet to be determined. 

Oh and we’re running the Denver Rock ‘n Roll marathon together in the fall!!! MY FIRST MARATHON! YAY!
